As the wealthy enjoyed their fortified havens and the poor struggled to survive in the ruins, a new and terrifying threat emerged from the depths of the devastated world: the Human Rat. Once impoverished humans, these beings had transformed into monstrosities after years of feeding on rats and being exposed to toxic elements and radiation.

The Human Rat were not interested in Final Sim Coin, the digital currency that drove the economy of the New Devastated World. To them, money was as useless as the debris of the collapsed cities. Their only motivation was survival and the expansion of their territory. For this purpose, everyone else was either prey or enemy.

The Transformation and Their Unyielding Nature

The transformation of these humans into Human Rat was not a rapid process, but it was inevitable. Hunger and desperation had forced them to continuously consume rats. Gradually, their bodies began to change. Their skin became rough, grayish, and more resilient, their senses sharpened, and their movements became swift and stealthy. Now, their sharp claws were as deadly as any weapon, and their teeth, as sharp as blades, could tear flesh with ease.

These beings moved through the sewers and dark tunnels, knowing every corner of the underground like the back of their hand. The mutation not only gave them extraordinary physical abilities but also made them immune to the effects of radiation and the toxicity that ravaged the surface.

The Underground War

The Human Rat began their offensive in the depths, initially attacking other poor humans trying to survive in the sewers. However, their aggression was not limited to the weak and vulnerable. It did not take long for them to clash with the Cockroach Humans, another emerging subspecies that had also adapted to survive in irradiated zones. Despite the resistance and toughness of the Cockroach Humans, the Human Rat displayed a brutality and cunning that made them formidable adversaries.

Battles between these two subspecies became common in the tunnels, and each encounter ended in a massacre. The Human Rat attacked in waves, using their numbers and knowledge of the terrain to overwhelm their enemies. Although the Cockroach Humans were resilient, the speed and ferocity of the Human Rat made them an unstoppable threat.

The Assault on the Fortress

Unsatisfied with dominating the tunnels, the Human Rat soon turned their attention to the surface. The fortifications of the wealthy, which represented a bubble of security amid the chaos, became their next target. The Human Rat began to dig tunnels beneath the walls of the fortresses, advancing stealthily to reach strategic points. At night, they would emerge from the earth like shadows, moving with a speed that disoriented the guards. Alarms would sound, and the wealthy would rush to their underground bunkers, while the Human Rat infiltrated their defenses.

The guards, though well-trained, were not prepared to face these beings. Conventional weapons were insufficient to stop the Human Rat, who used their agility to dodge bullets and strike from unexpected angles. Their attacks were not aimed at technological treasures or digital money, but at vital supplies of food and water necessary for their survival.

The Survival of the Rich

Despite the advanced security systems, the attacks by the Human Rat tested the resilience of the fortresses. The wealthy, accustomed to their comfortable and secure life, began to feel the true weight of desperation. Each night, the tension increased as they wondered if their home would be the next target of an attack.

Within the fortress, life began to change. The children, who once played carefree in the courtyards, were now trained in survival techniques.
